What is Laneo?
Laneo is a global initiative that connects people, brands, and environmental groups to clean up the planet. At each level, we provide stakeholders with the means to make change happen. Outdoor enthusiasts discover practical ways to get involved and learn more about nature and, in turn, share their progress across social networks. Environmental NGOs attract volunteers and secure financial and logistical support. Brands receive assistance to select and sponsor cleanup projects, gaining the use of various tools to manage their communication and image.
What is a cleanup?
Usually, a cleanup event is organized by an NGO and gathers volunteers to pick up, sort, and remove non-toxic waste from natural sites. Projects typically last one day, and these events aim to recycle part of what is collected and dispose of the rest correctly. All Laneo-powered environmental cleanup actions are supervised by field experts and include workshops, activities, and takeaways to educate and engage participants as well as locally sourced organic food & drink.
What does Laneo? mean?
(Lah-neo) comes from the Hawaiian word "alaneo", which means "serene" in a beautiful, natural setting. Our natural earth is a source of serenity, peace, and stillness. Without our environment intact, our outdoor experience loses all meaning.

Our Beliefs
Our conviction is that the magnitude of environmental problems cannot be adequately resolved through traditional "non-profit" measures or the "philanthropic" approach. We are confident that only a change in behavior will enable the kind of reversal that is necessary. For this reason, we believe it is essential to support individuals through grassroots movements and combine the energy and reach of corporations to produce solutions for real and lasting change.
Our Goals
We’re tired of talk, so we’ve developed five short-term goals to keep Laneo on target. They’re ambitious but attainable, and that’s how we like it. We’ll soon be sharing our progress online with everyone via a real-time performance scorecard, but in the meantime, here’s what gets us up in the morning!
